Lega Pace joins forces with Ladies' Turn established in Senegal, to expand women's soccer.
This collaboration starts with the organisation of an international tournament.
Lega Pace's role is to bring logistic and financial support to projects gathering men and women for whom sport, and culture are emancipation vectors.
This led us to co-host, with our partner, Senegalese NGO Ladies’ Turn, a soccer tournament mixing sport practice, culture and human exchange. Originally scheduled in July 2020, the tournament has been postponed to July 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Very popular in Senegal, soccer still remains a male sport, inappropriate for women.
Most women don't get the chance to play and find few support.
Since 2009, the Senegalese association Ladies’ Turn has been highlighting female soccer not only as a sport but also as an instrument to promote gender equality.
Simultaneously, Ladies' Turn organizes collective activities to foster the self-confidence and teamwork abilities that soccer enables women and girls to develop.
